Our B’nai Mitzvah Students do wonderful things for the community. You can help them reach their goals with their specific mitzvah projects, and even help them to expand what they are doing as they approach B’nai Mitzvah by encouraging our students to make their projects on-going!
Hannah Cooper’s Bat Mitzvah is Nov 7, 2009. She says about her project:
My bat mitzvah project is to make jewelry and bookmarks to sell. Beth El USY is helping to make a lot of the items. My goal is to make $180 to buy art supplies to donate to Free Arts of Arizona. Free Arts is a non-profit organization that helps abused, underprivileged, and homeless children do art. Please help by buying something. We will probably start selling some time in December.
Nate Cooper’s Bar Mitzvah is Nov 7, 2009. Nate will be working with Senior Citizens at Kivel. He says: For my Bar Mitzvah project I will be playing board games and helping seniors with the computers at Kivel Campus of Care. Kivel has assisted and independent living apartments.

These children are amazing and appreciate everything I do for them. I am very glad I chose this program because every time I say good bye to them I know that I made a difference in their lives and I feel great about this. I hope that I will be able to continue working in this center for the years to come”. The Boys’ and Girls’ Club of the East Valley provides a variety of programs that captivate the interest of boys and girls while helping them develop a lasting sense of self -worth and the confidence to reach for the stars. In order to fulfill my Mitzvah I need your help. The club is in need of gently used clothing, gently used shoes and art supplies. Here is a list of the art supplies that you may be able to donate: Brown or white paper sandwich bags; paper, markers, felt, popsicle sticks, clay, glue, glue sticks, lace, goggle eyes, stickers, yarn, red paint, tissue paper, white construction paper, paper plates, noodles, food coloring, “jewels”, scissors ( adult’s and children’s), rice, beans, glitter, straws, beads, cereal( fruits loops), Qtips, fabric, small hot glue gun and a large glue gun, glue sticks and stuffing.
I like to thank you in advance for taking the time and I hope that you will find in your heart a minute to think about the importance of helping me be able to get what they need to make their life easy and enjoy their time in the art room.
